Other Professional Thanks

Janice Corbett: Work Mum and without a doubt my biggest supporter of all time. My longest-standing colleague. Who knows where I’d be without you? PhOrMeS wouldn’t exist- that much is for sure! Thank you for your unwavering backing (even when I probably haven’t deserved it), your friendship and care and your wicked honesty and sense of humour!

Kate Buck: Willing to drop everything and listen to a lowly speechie regarding literacy! Your dedication to improving teaching and learning of students is so admirable.

Mark Hanson: You took a risk and gave me a position which allowed me to start the beginnings of PhOrMeS. Forever grateful.

Michael Puddy: Ditto above!

Karen Walter: Ditto above and more. Learning what I did in my time with you set me up to do what I now do. You restored my faith in the possibilities of helping struggling students to achieve strong literacy skills. Like so many others, PhOrMeS would not exist with your help on the journey.

Rebecca Brown: Ditto above, but more specifically, your knowledge of the English language and how to help remediate higher-level literacy and language problems was passed on to me at a time I knew next to nothing about it! That knowledge has been and will be shared far and wide. (Also, creator of the phrase, ‘Short Vowels Need Protection’).

Dr. Nathaniel Swain: I don’t know how you do what you do. I have been incredibly blessed to get the opportunity to work side-by-side with you. You’ve helped give this curriculum the structure and pizazz it needed. And your advocacy for me has been unbelievably vindicating. Keep nudging!

Alana Semerjian- My icon-putter-inner-er (and much more). You know of which I speak!

Gisele Clough- Thank you so much for your work on morphology slides!

Kylie Conrad- Thank you for your generosity in answering some of my many morphology/etymology questions!

All of the staff at Brandon Park PS: Thank you for your work, support, critiques, feedback, reality checks and patience. Keep it up!

Shane
